We were staying at the home of the Captain of the beach patrol, so we got to learn a lot about how that operates. They rescue hundreds of swimmers every summer, they've set new records this year on saves. Almost all are the result of swimmers getting caught in rip tides.

Some highlights from a paddle on the bay and a visit to the boardwalk. Kristi Jennings & Butch Arbin paddled with me. Butch is captain of the Ocean City Beach Patrol and he and his wife hosted us for our trip. The lifeguard standing on the chair is Butch's son. We had a great time. Butch's wife Penny took the photos of us paddling-- rare that I am in the photos :)
