This is a missing(or never built?) stairway at Rivington castle. Building started in 1916 but ended around 1925 due to the death of Lord leverhulme who built lots of things that appear to have been done to amuse him and us. It was styled on Liverpool castle which was removed in the 1700's to ease traffic flow. Oh to have people like him today!
