Dead trees,a little color, and green on a hillside. Common in the Hill Country of Texas

Part of the creek in the Sabinal Valley.

Maples on the cliffside above the stream.

A cave about two thirds of the way up the cliff framed by a maple.

Maple in the floor of the valley with the limestone cliff behind.

Most of the maples with color were all about the same size and were probably planted to bolster the older trees for the future.

I think the best shots are those with the sun backlighting the leaves.

Just outside the entrance to the valley and across the highway. Looks like a few maples made their way out of the valley.

This is in the Sabinal Valley site of the lost maples. I guess it does get a little bit better when a windstorm doesn't beat you there by a couple of days and knock down most of the leaves from the large trees. The smaller trees that still had color were pretty nice for Texas. Hope you enjoy them.
