Rain, rain, rain & more rain. We both got thoroughly drenched. Good job I bought a weatherproof camera, shame the lenses aren't weatherproof but a plastic bag helped, problem was the rain was so cold I could barely work the controls after a while.
I headed straight for the Hothouse [...get a move on Bella I'm getting soaked]. I wasn't happy with yesterday's Bird of Paradise flower photo and wanted to see if I could do a better job blurring the background with my 50mm f1.4 lens.
I need to get another coat for Bella as her present one is too small and near useless in this kind of weather.

Went to do some late night shopping to get the ingredients for a new recipe* and took a camera as you should. Considering the howling wind, driving rain and overweight rucksack, I thought I was a little optimistic in believing I would get any useful photos but you never know till you try. I rather like what I came back with.
* Baked nocchi with green pesto, savoy cabbage, gorgonzola & mozarella cheese - delicious!
You seem to have had a nice day despite the weather and I'm glad you did.
The pics you came back with are enough I think to make a day fine.
#1 & 2 are superb with that tiny DOF. 50mm?
I understant why #8 is your favourite today! Thes gulls almost look like they are standing on the branch!
#12 is superb the way it is.
These kind of 'accidents' are always joyful surprises. So much that I sometimes try to make some happen by taking shots without looking in the viewfinder and from special angles, like that, without thinking. But that was much easier with a P&S!!!
