I found the three ink bottles at the Brimfield Fair in Sturbridge, MA. According to a book I found on inkwells, these were made somewhere in the late 1880s and have sheared tops. I actually didn't care about their lineage, I liked the colors and shape. Also I imagined someone dipping a pen into the bottle—sepia ink, I hope.
The brown bottle came from Washington, DC— not originally. I found it in a store that seemed to sell everything, but nothing in particular. It's hand-blown and the colors are made for sitting on a window ledge.
