your words capture the rhythm of weaving. not a metronome rhythm. not that precise. the rhythm of harvest and toolmaking, the rhythm of the craft and not art. and you know i cannot help but like these shots.

Yes, it's my collection. The flat baskets are , in order, Zimbabwe, Hopi, and Navaho. The first five photos are of a basket of African origins and the last two are the Shaker baskets of the poem.

India and other Asian cultures do have many bamboo basket 'using & making' traditions... they are simple n elegant in appeal, yet fine n delicate in feel... they are very handy and earthy too!
