A Day For an Ice Cream Cone

2007.03.04

Perhaps it's an anomaly. Perhaps it's just a warm day promising more warm days. After days of cold weather, ice storms, torrential rains— a sneak preview of spring just happened. Spring, a visitor you hope for, but aren't quite sure will arrive.

People took to the streets—an invasion of bare arms, less than winter attire, hatless, without gloves, smiling—sauntering. Soon shoots will appear. But tomorrow it will feel like twenty and Monday even colder. Today, today —a gift.

All the pictures were taken in Cambridge or Somerville.

marissa1982 oh but tomorrow is still supposed to be nice - tuesday is when it gets back to winter. until then, wearing improper clothing is necessary :)

JuliaGotz Your pictures are open and interested in the world. You see those moments of beauty around you. Skirt blown against her legs, great boots - I love that.

JuliaGotz adding - to me, the first and last pictures are not as unique and exciting as the others, which have a touch of the unexpected about them.

deleted062007 I love your shots Lynda - always positive and always appropriate!! Your shots are warm and always have a great depth and meaning. The colours of your shots are beautifully done (dep tones) and I always stick around to look at each one as I am commenting - as you already know, my comment are rather long?? I especially love your shot of the child - what an outfit and what an expression on her face as she is concentrating on the thing at hand!! Superb selection and very well presented - sorry for the length of this. - LeapYapsALot

aggiechristine Wonderful series - I like the unexpectedness of the seventh shot, which seems a bit desolate. Maybe a reminder that winter has not left yet?
