Walk Beyond Main Street

2007.03.09

"...you...must recognize the value of the familiar."
Freeman Patterson

Today, I stopped for a quick coffee and a bite, and walked away from Main Street. I walked behind the facades of restaurants, a record store, two clothing stores, and emporiums catering to whims or needs. This is a town I often go through or stop for coffee or a frozen yogurt. I've driven behind Main Street to bypass traffic, but today I walked and observed and articulated my observations with photos.

Then I left because I probably couldn't explain why I was late save to say that I took a longer route.

SuperG Viusal poetry. Jam packed photo intrigue. I paticularly like the textural vision going on.

Venkat lovely observations...

Yes, I too notice things differently, when I walk or cycle along... its indeed a refreshing experience on its own, and yet will also definitely result in good capturing...

Jannie You mean "I'm late because I was photoblogging" isn't an acceptable reason?? Do they not really know you? You have such a great eye. I really love the shoes!

vollenda This is a great batch of textures and lines. The stairs are my favorite.

jpfromoz I am constantly amazed by where you see photo opportunities. Great angles, textures, compositions and colours. It certainly pays to "walk away from Main" now and then. Great series.

jpfromoz #9 is particularly spectacular.

sudipsur Wish I too had a pair of eyes like yours...

aggiechristine One of my struggles is to see beauty in the familiar. I work in an area of town probably filled with fantastic images - but my eyes have seen them for so long that I miss the possibilities. I can learn so much from you! Great series, filled with texture.

chipotle i want to meet the person who wore the two-toned boots. and the one who walks the stair stoop every day in eleven.

marissaphoto Great shots, once again. I think my favorite would have to be the shot of the shoes lined up. Great perspective.
