I just love bonsai's Lynda, especially the ones that have been handed down for generations - that could be hundreds of years old!! These are magnificent shots and the flowers and the leaves are so stunning, and what colours!! Just a super post!!

That poem is so sad - and can apply to so many things in life. I'll never look at a bonsai tree the same again! Great set - I especially like the compositions of #7 and 8.

the nursery is called Bonsai West and it's in Littleton, MA. There are several large indoor areas and a huge outdoor area. I went with a friend who was purchasing a fig tree bonsai and while she looked at the different trees I wandered about taking pictures. Bonsai West offers classes, bonsai sitting, and care for hurting plants. Most fascinating were the trees hundreds of years old. I only quoted half of the poem—it's worth while looking up the second half. The first part is really a metaphor for the second part.

Beautiful serie. I don't know why but I always feel sorry when I see a bonsai, I feel like planting it in my garden, but I don't think it would survive the treatment ! I also favour the flowers
