Treasures

2007.06.05

"God comes to each of us in the form we can best perceive..."
Richard Zimler

Stones found on beaches, in streams—
Stones buried in sand, in the water
Tokens, memorabilia of the past

Colours fade, blanch as stones dry
while fish teeth
with no owner
converse with the wind

“The pebble in the brook secretly thinks itself a precious stone."
Japanese proverb

photopoet The stones were all found , some in Canada as well as in New England. Perhaps one or two from elsewhere. I found the teeth at Coastguard Beach— Cape Cod. I believe it's a common indigenous fish.

jendayee I love stones and used to collect them... I still do !
Bringing back from here and there...
My father was always asking me if I was about to built a house :)))
So you can be sure I love that set !
jendayee · 2007-06-05: 20:50
aggiechristine The way you've presented these is wonderful - the surprise of the red pebble at the third shot and the teeth on the last shot (great, tight dof too) works beautifully with the poem and proverb.
aggiechristine · 2007-06-05: 23:44
magpy beautiful presentation, as always! the stones are beautiful in their own right but even more so the way they are grouped
magpy · 2007-06-06: 17:33
pixkid Rocks are always vibrant or dull, but the thing about that is that they are all so diverse. Pleasing, lovely macro shots.
