"love that dirty water..." what a great city in which you live. and look at the ice cream truck! i have not seen one of those in years.

Up until the 1950s people swam in the Charles, but by 1955 it was considered "foul" and polluted. At one point boaters were advised to go to the hospital and get a tetanus shot if they fell into the water. By 1996 a number of agencies had been involved with cleaning up the Charles and making it available for swimming—once again. There was a recent one mile Master's invitational swim to celebrate the milestone of swimmable, “not-so-dirty water”.

It's a wonderful gathering place with a lot of activity. The boater seems to really be enjoying the sunshine. Great set!
