The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears, or the sea. ~Isak Dinesen

Coast Guard Beach — The waves softly rolled onto the shore and they left contour lines —

The sea is mesmerizing.

Coast Guard dunes —the rocks sometimes tumble down and form interesting sculptures.

Sand dusts the rocks

We walked for miles following other footprints

Nauset Beach—with its deep green-blue colours bellowed. The beach is known to have a nasty rip tide.

Nauset Beach—She watched the waves draw back into the ocean and sneak back onto the shore.

Race Point Beach— a great place to take out a dune buggy, go for a long walk, or fish. This group was drenched pretty quickly.

“Neither can the wave that has passed by be recalled, nor the hour which has passed return again.”

—Ovid

Provincetown Beach at high tide.

Provincetown Beach at high tide.

This breakwater is at one end of Provincetown. You can walk all the way to the end and then at low tide onto a sandy beach , and continue almost to the lighthouse. Absolutely beautiful walk—and you're surrounded by water.

“Even the upper end of the river
believes in the ocean.”

—William Stafford

Last week when the temperatures were summer like we walked miles on the beaches of Cape Cod. Each beach is unique—the waves break differently, the ocean speaks with a distinct voice.

vollenda Your title is so very true. My favorite photos are the ones with the lone figures. Be it a little girl or an older soul, next to the sea, we are all equal in age and size. #9 is my favorite.
