We are in the midst of repairing the water damage from ice dams. Yesterday they tore down the walls in a closet, ripped out the installation, and set up an enormous fan and a humidifier. The sound of the two of these behemoth machines makes ordinary conversation a thing of the past—pre-water damage. The machines will do their drying out work for three days—at least- and then they will re-constrict the closet.
So this morning we opted to treat ourselves to a breakfast at Nancy's Airline Cafe. The tables face the small airport —and it's great fun to stare out and watch the planes.
“It is as if there were a natural law which ordained that to achieve this end, to refine the curve of a piece of furniture, or a ship's keel, or the fuselage of an airplane, until gradually it partakes of the elemental purity of the curve of the human”
Antoine de Saint-Exupery
