Peel and Shell as Metaphors

There's something about the writing of a new year—something that makes me ponder. So when I took a photo of my left over clementine peels they metamorphosed into metaphors about life. The egg —before being scrambled—took on added significance.

Perhaps this thinking was precipitated by the frigid temperatures, or the mystery I'm reading, or the reading I need to get to before Monday, or the lessons I must prepare. Perhaps it is caused by the news or it is simply what I do each year when I look forward and backward at the same time.
