Strange things blow in through my window on the wings of the night wind and I don't worry about my destiny.
—Carl Sandburg |
A leaf fluttered in through the window this morning, as if supported by the rays of the sun, a bird settled on the fire escape...

Love all of these! The last one looks like the building that was used in the movie Finding Forrester. I wonder if it is?

I always think windows are interesting as well as the coverings or lack of coverings that people use at their windows. And I like multi-paned glass like in #1 the best, but I always wondered what it would be like to have those rounded areas with windows like your other two photos. I would have a window seat there. My windows are always open when it's not too cold. I have no air conditioning and really don't miss it. Great photos one and all. And I read, but don't write enough to have anything much to throw out the window but I think other's confetti blows into mine!

I agree whole heartedly with your sentiments..........and besides, a window that doesnt open is about as useless as a fifth wheel. What's the point? Sure you get a bit of light, but what about the breeze? What about the smell of your neighbors home baking? What about the dogs barking and the lawn mower cutting grass at 6am.....argg...ok maybe I can do without the last two! #1 is just lovely!!!!

I could not agree more. I hate a window you can't open. It's oppressive. I love this set and its philosophy. Outstanding piece, Lynda. The first shot's lighting seems to change the colour of the white paint on the right to blue... so lovely.

Is «windows» a theme today? There are many post featuring windows... I really love these. The three of them present great compositions. Superb work again.
