That's really interesting about the origins of the barber pole! I like the color one best also, although both are really cool. Your quotation about asking the barber if you need a haircut reminds me of the one that says that if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Yeah, I actually knew that about barbers' poles — but good to hear it again and to have it woven into your hometown narrative. Both images are good — but I think the B&W is more arresting.
