Men think highly of those who rise rapidly in the world; when nothing rises quicker than dust, straw, and feathers.

You have a nack for taking simple objects and turning them into masterpieces. I like Nikki also.

A lot dimensions of straw nicely captured in word and image. "If you do have imagination... you can make feast of straw.” Jane Stanton Hitchcock

texture galore.....I love how coarse it looks in the first shot being so much closer and then by the final shot it looks so much fine and softer.

And, only the strawng survive ;-) Funny, when I looked at your pictures/quotes, all I could think of is that I wouldn't know the difference between a picture of hay or straw...which then took me to the thought of the civil war and "hay foot" "straw foot"...sheesh, how the mind wanders!

'god is a stone in a stone and a straw in a straw' — can't remember who said...but someone did. Might even have been john donne.

Really interesting. You've got me thinking - thank you. Once again, I love the textures and light across the shots. “The key to life is imagination. If you don't have that, no mater what you have, it's meaningless. If you do have imagination... you can make feast of straw.” - Jane Stanton Hitchcock I think you've done just that :)

Harry, Thanks for suggesting the quote: "God is so omnipresent...God is an angel in an angel, and a stone in a stone, and a straw in a straw." —John Donne

to-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow, - creeps in this petty pace from day to day, - to the last syllab of recorded time ; and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death ... - yes but it doesn't much matter, if I die a star runs away, the galaxy is staying, if I die a grain of sand goes out, the beach is left to the sun ... today, only today, just a step, then another step... I know that Alexander the Great was wrong to cut the Gordian knot, it is necessary to undo it... I'll have no time but the humanity will have the time ...
