Into the Dark...And Beyond

After ten days of no computer, no internet, no printer, I'm all connected. Finally I received the call—It's ready.

I wrote on a pad, in a notebook, on napkins, even on my hand
I wrote with an assortment of pens
a sleek silver fountain pen with a fine nib
a chunky ball point that left smudges
and two pens advertising a local store

I once again fell in love with the organic feel of writing,
but still missed my keyboard

As the days went by and my darkened screen sat idle
I wondered about connections—
