The Arrival of Colour

2008.05.04

We've been stuck—actually mired— in a wet pattern. Late this afternoon the drizzle simply stopped. The sun still waited until a bit later—but I couldn't wait for the sun.

"Flowers seem intended for the solace of ordinary humanity." ~John Ruskin

LastFrontier Schaeffer pens are fine, but you seem to be making up for lost time with a passion. I admire these photos of flowers with droplets of your recent drizzle. We hope to see flowers this spring, but for now, I'll just let you taunt me with these images.

Madoc No matter the lack of sun, these bright colors are gorgeous.
Superb macros, especially the first one with the little drops.

Peche Goodness.

Lynda, it's so wonderful to see your posts again.
The first and last shots are simply superb. The light, the dof, the perspective - the last is particularly unique and so clever.
Tulips are my absolute favourite.
I pulled out my Blake poems over the weekend, and sifted through the book just now to remember this line:

“To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palms of your hand and eternity in an hour.”
- William Blake

camilleauteuil believe in me, don't believe in me, when I show of it - what I know about the misfortune gives the right to me there - if when we walk towards the sun it goes away - if the nape of the neck of people is made for the executioner, if their arms are promised to the cross - the happiness exists and I believe in it

( I be fond of your sets ! )
