I like to go barefoot. Shoes are too restrictive, too uncomfortable, too unnatural for me. However, my employer says I have to wear shoes to work. So I follow the dress code of my employer if I want to work there. And I do (want to work there). I don't have to work there. I could probably go try to find a job where they would allow me to go barefoot if I firmly believed in that. Or I could start my own barefoot business where no one could ever wear shoes if I felt very strongly about it. But when I'm on my own time I go barefoot. I don't feel like fighting with my employer to let me go barefoot at work. It would be a pointless and foolish waste of my energy. I can take my shoes off at my desk at work and most people wouldn't know, my co-workers/friends could probably see my barefeet under the desk (if I allowed them that privilege), but I don't feel I am being censored because my employer doesn't allow me to flaunt my feet. However, I respect others who wish to always wear shoes even when they don't have to - high heels, loafers, sneakers, thongs, slippers, sandals, platform shoes, wing-tips; worn out shoes, outrageously expensive shoes, garage sale shoes. That's for them. That's not for me. As long as they don't step on my toes too much...I'm fine with what they wear. But no matter what I would never consider insulting someone's feet because I don't like to wear shoes- black, white, red, brown, yellow feet, painted toenails, moldy toenails, club foot, shriveled foot, missing foot, big foot, small foot, soft skin, dry skin, stinky feet, toe-ringed feet - they should all be walking toward the same goal post while they can walk - shoes or no shoes.

I do not like my feet and my toes are ugly. I keep my shoes all the time even at home except in the shower and in my bed ;->> However, it is very pleasant to walk naked in the lawn :) Nice post!

I rarely comment on topics like this. No one would like to walk in my shoes I walk too much up hill and I have to wear arch supports. I step in animal poo and probably kneel in it too.. ;) People are all different and so is the walk and shoes.. I am a Christian so now you know my view... I really need that brush in your photo to polish up my ropers!! ;) Great shot and great reflection as well!!

Nice post. It is good to stand in others shoes from time to time but best to wear one's own shoes.

So right! I haven't seen that censored post of which both you and Ronin53 speak of. From the general idea I've made out from the little bits I've gathered I think that the Snark quotation is really to the point! I love the "Hunt of the Snark"!!! And that line that runs like more or less "Just the place for a Snark! It is true for I have said it thrice!" By the way, your blog cheers me up every time I visit it! :D

this controversy annoyed me ! - there were even of false friends who threatened me not to be any more my friends if I was not of their opinion... - but I love only friends who respect my opinion even if they don't share it - walk with your own shoes, never dance a music which you did not compose yourself ...

Very cool photo! When I was in High school in the early 70's I used to make my own leather sandals. It was fun and calming. I loved tooling the leather and making them to wear. I even made those kind of High wooden heel leather shoes too. This flooded the memories back of those days!
