Provincetown: A Tour from East End to West End of Commercial Street

2008.06.10
There's a small unpaved street off Commercial Street with five houses and the most stunning gardens.

I believe this is a Royal Wedding Oriental Poppy.

Lupines. These were beautiful, but I favor the lupines growing wild in Maine.

One of the gardens seemed to be purple, blue and shades of rose and pink.

Getting ready—

Entrance to one of the many art galleries.

Ample shopping—

The street is narrow and shared by pedestrians, cars, bikes and skateboarders.

There's always a crowd here for a fast bite. Across the way is a great ice cream place—one of three.

If you get tired promenading—fly a kite.

—or sunbathe.

Perhaps she's delivering flowers or loves flowers.

Dog walking is also popular.

Advertising!

We walked down to the West end Salon and observed one person sitting waiting for the process to begin and several people waiting.

If you tire of walking—

I spotted a number of pigs on handlebars. Perhaps these are in—

Dance—anyone?

You never can tell what breed people love.

A good place to read—

A tourist trolley takes people to "thirty spots you shouldn't miss".

These flags are all over P-Town. They represent gay and lesbian pride and peace.

We had planned a three day vacation to Provincetown even before the heat and humidity blanketed the New England area.

The sea breeze kept the temperature down enough to enjoy Commercial Street . (The beach photos will follow).

I love the diversity.

Beagles3 Oh these photos brought back so many memories of my vacation in P-town! It still looks the same!! I loved the area and the diversity that was there in '81 when I was there. I had a great huge boiled lobster dinner there, watched an amazing thunder storm come across the ocean and rode a Sand Dune buggy. Beautiful photo sharing!!
