Beaches of Provincetown

2008.06.11
Race Point Beach—we walked for the longest time—barefoot and in the cold water.

A calm sea—

The only people we saw for forty minutes were heading to a spot to fish—

The water adds to the colour of beach rocks—

beach rocks—a natural still-life

a treasure—

barnacles

They run back and forth quite rapidly—

Someone has been here—

seaweed abstract

I'm not sure who left this—

Beach grass—

The sand was quite hot—

Herring Cove Beach—beach roses

Sand dunes—

Morning low tide

“In every outthrust headland, in every curving beach, in every grain of sand there is the story of the earth.”

Rachel Carson

CJLata Beautiful photos. We went there once as a family, years ago when my son was little. (Twice to the Cape.)

jagungal We are in the middle of winter here; these scenes seem to come from a different planet. What a gorgeous set! The ocean, the beach, the sky — primordial elements which provide an every-changing and ever-fascinating spectacle. Great set!

kangshung A beautiful set full of the waterside ambience - there's just nothing like a very long walk at the beach!

Beagles3 I am working backwards through your photos. I have been so busy the past two weeks I am behind in my friends photos.

I was excited to see P-town pictures! I visited there back in 1981 when my cousin took us to her timeshare condominium. We had taken a vacation to NYC and Boston and she lives in Taunton MA. I reached her home and proply had a miscarriage in the Morton General Hospital at 3 months so when I got out of the hospital she took us to P-town for a weeks vacation.

I loved the area and found it to be most interesting. Beautiful beach photos!!

oldbabe Oh, what a great place to walk. It is interesting that rocks wash up rather than shells. I'd sure be collecting those and polishing them! They are so pretty. And those bird prints in the sand look kind of like little anchors. It is interesting to see how far you can walk at low tide too.
oldbabe · 2008-06-15: 14:08
Lindyart this looks similar to a beach I love in NC called Sunset Beach ... thanks for sharing this .. since I can't go to my beach right now ..I will enjoy this ...beautiful !!!

ScubaLiz I'm working backwards thru your photos - I'm glad there's more of the Cape! I love the place, usually get there at least once a year (been going for 16 years now), but it's looking like I won't have the opportunity this year, so thanks for letting me enjoy it vicariously thru your photos! I think I'm homesick.... ;) Oh yeah, and these are terrific photos, too!
ScubaLiz · 2008-06-20: 22:23
