One morning when I looked out of the bedroom window , I saw this Tree Shrew on the banana flowers. I am not too sure if it's eating the flowers or the nectar. There’s two of them in the beginning but later they gave birth to two young. They come to the garden every day looking for food. They are very quick, constantly on the move searching for food on the trees and also on the ground.

This is the garden of Darby and Joan which is about 200 sq meters. Darby spends alot of time looking after the plants and trees. He feeds them with fertilizers and compost and so that's why the garden looks so green and healthy.
In this garden there are fruit trees like the mangoes, papayas and bananas and herbs too. The lantana, heliconia, bougainvillea and the sendudok, our local rhododendron are some of the flowers growing in this garden. T'here are also wild plants and trees which species we're not sure of, growing in the garden too. Darby had been told that his garden is like a jungle.
There are also several species of birds that visit the garden like the bulbuls, sunbirds, yellow-naped orioles, flower peckers, shrikes, sparrows, starlings and in the night, there's the nightjars.
All sorts of species of butterflies and bees can be seen feeding on nectar of the flowers. There's also a family of Tree Shrews that visit the garden every day especially in the morning and evening. And when night falls, the fruit bats will come to feed on the nectar and flowers too. From time to time the civet cats can be seen in the garden feeding on the mangoes.
Both Darby and Joan love sitting in their dinning room sipping on their cup of tea, looking out into the garden everyday in the morning and during the evening or anytime of the day. There's so much to look at for it's a jungle out there !
