The Common Sun Skink

2009.11.01

The Common Sun Skinks or Many-lined Skinks belong to the lizard family. They are characterised by their smooth, scaled skin and small legs. They can be found in wooded areas, mangroves and parks. They are very shy and will slither away very quickly.

The skinks feed on insects, spiders and smaller lizards. The female will give birth to 5 to10 live young.

AsH It's odd that they don't lay eggs although they belong to the lizard family. Still, really great pictures.
