Great concept! I love the colors. But, I think just a tad off on focus, if I may criticize... I have that same problem too!
Ah comrade yes, a bit of a focussing thing not happening there. Took this in low light in a seafood restaurant, with macro lens. I typed you a long msg yesterday on related topics, but P'blog was not responding (I'll resend it tonight).

Incidentally, I did notice the problem, and used a bit of a trick to sharpen it up along the outer edge. Unfortunately this is secret knowledge available only to members of Club Cherax. However for a small fee and a pile of caveats I may provide it to you.

I want a lens with a proper manual focussing ability!! Why did they ever remove that feature from the pre-digital lenses??

In the same tank was a similar fish with an amazing deformed eye, and none of the pictures were usable (focus again!!). Bit of a shame because it looked really freaky. Maybe I'll post it anyway with disclaimers about the quality.

BTW flash would've been a problem here because I was shooting through glass.

MHJphotos Awesome! I'm trying to push my wife into getting another body, so we can both shoot together. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Nikon D300, which uses the same CMOS sensor as your a700! All indications are both cameras will take outstanding images.

Congratulations ... heading now to check out your blog!

Inspired by me? Well, glad I could give inspiration. I should've seen these pictures earlier, these are astounding!
Thanks Pix ... and yes ... the idea of the bark macros was inspired by your post on that day. Hey, I give credit, where credit is due!

Good luck on your DSLR purchase ... please let me know what you end up with!
