Endangered Species

2008.09.19
This is a story that began over twenty years ago when SIS students, under the guidance of their teacher, Grace Mutino, painted a mural of endangered species. This mural has graced the hallway outside our third grade wing ever since. Last year an observant principal noted the anniversary of this mural was upon us. He then approached teacher Rose Smith with an idea - to have fifth grade students research the status of those then endangered animals, research newly endangered species, and expand the mural. With the help of our art teacher, Kristin Landau, that is exactly what happened. The research is available to all in our library, and the mural is so worth visiting. In the mean time, please enjoy the artwork of our talented students.
