I was amazed at how green the forests are - and not just one shade of green but a whole spectrum of the colour!

Occasionally, you'll find temples, shrines and pagodas peeking through the midst of all this green. I'm beginning to understand the concept of 'borrowed scenery' in Japanese landscape design.

And just when you think, it's all green leaves, you find a splash of brilliant reds and orange!

meiling Great shots, great compositions –– and great colour contrasts. Love Nos: 2 and 3, but especially the ones of the vividly hued acers. They are my favourite plants. We had three over from the UK which thrived well in the Spanish winter but, when summer arrived, the heat was unfortunately unbearable for them. But my heart sings everytime I see an acer, whether in a photo or on the TV. Thank you for bringing back those happy memories for me!
