And now for the rest of the story.

Since joining photoblog, I longed for the day Allison and I would go on a shooting exploration..
Well that day arrived.

Picture this it’s 2008 a stunning spring day. Allison and I went to the Southern Railroad Museum with her children. After taking over 150 pictures we decided it was time to head home. As Allison was driving I notice more trains, rusty colors calling out to be immortalized by my camera. I asked her to stop the car so that I may take a shot from the window.

At that point I decided I should get out and take the SHOT!. As Allison parked the car I went for the SHOT!! All of sudden I saw FLO JO (a famous track star) Allison running past me. I lost my head I thought OH NO. she’s going to leave me with the kids - she will have the money SHOT!. I began to run also - (okay so I’m no longer 120lbs) Allison called out, “Stay with my kids”, I yelled back, “those are not my kids”. We started laughing. She came back after taking several shots.

After parking the car again she got out and began down the tracks. Now mind you there were about 7 tracks of 15-30 rail cars long. I did not see Allison.. Being the great Mother I went back to the car with the kids as Allison went on her quest.

Kaitlyn (7 yrs old) asked if she could take pictures with my camera. She promised to keep the strap around her neck - then she was gone on her quest to get the SHOT!

They both disappeared for 15 minutes- during that time Braden enjoyed my singing.

Allison returns with glee in her smile. She’s explaining how she can set the depth of field on her camera, change the lighting etc…

Kaitlyn comes back to the car - Allison and I reviewed her photos. We both started laughing hysterically because this child, this precious child with a very effortless click of a simple camera was able to GET the money SHOT!!!

focussed oh how utterly hilarious.....isnt it always the way though?! you can be so intent on getting the perfect shot that sometimes, someone who doenst try manages to steal your thunder. Somehow i don't think you mind sharing the limelight with her in the slightest ;)
the kid has some talent!.. I guess you all know what to get her birthday or Christmas!
Great set of photos..(from all of you) and a wonderfully warm and funny story to boot.

aurian *laughs* I love the story behind these set of pictures, and how a seven year-old managed to get the "shot of the day"! :D

picturemom Sooooo great, and honestly everyone got great shots! And I will probably be laughing for days because I KNOW you two and I KNOW there is not one exaggeration here - but knowning you I'm surprised the car didn't stall there, a cop car didn't come along or some transient living in the trains didn't come out to ask for a ride :0)! really do love all the shots.
