Another struck at 10:14 a.m. It was 4.5 magnitude.

The earthquake struck southern Illinois about six miles north of Mount Carmel, at 4:37 a.m., violently shaking people from their beds, swaying Chicago skyscrapers and vibrating the earth as far east as Georgia.

DancingDolphin Well, THAT'S kind of cool that you grabbed your camera! Supposedly some people here felt it, not I, not at 5:30 AM! It's nice that the quake provided some 'excitement' but little damage.

jwideman yikes! it's such a weird feeling for the ground and everything around to move! we had a few small ones when i lived in alaska. nice shot!
