Every Asadh 15, in Bikram sambat,
As the season changes and the monsoon arrives in Nepal, farmers throughout the country start planting rice which will be harvested just before the Dashain festival. To celebrate the successful planting the farmers eat dahi(curd) and chiyura(beaten rice) and drench each other with mud in a cheerful game of mud-slinging.
