They say the English ship the H.M.S. Gaspee was attacked by Rhode Island revolutionaries on this spot. It landed in another cove a few miles away. But they say this was one of the first acts of revolution against the English Crown...even before the Revolutionary War started!!!
Even with all the bloodshed...it's still a nice looking cove.
