Originally, this was going to revolve around me, but I changed my mind. However, this morning, I did want to take this picture. A few days ago, this was part of a beautiful rose that bloomed in the sunny warm weather we had. After last nights frost, this is what is left, cold and broken, but still a rose nonetheless.

Typically, my photoblog is about me and my life in photos. However, I have decided that this week, I am going to focus my blog on others.
This, we are hosting a display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt on-campus. I would consider the display probably one of the most moving and emotional community projects I have ever had the privilege and honor of seeing. I'm not sure where my interest or passion for the quilt came from. To the best of my knowledge, I have never been personally touched by AIDS. As I was walking around looking at the display today, I couldn't help but think that most of the people remembered on these quilts weren't famous. They were fathers, brothers, mothers, sisters, lovers, husbands, wives, and friends. I think we all want to be remembered and have an impact on this world and all of these people will be remembered and have had an impact on the people in their lives. It makes me feel like I have been selfish the last few days about my feelings and that is something I know that I must work on emotionally and spiritually.
I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to see the display to do it. You will not be disappointed. You can see a list of displays across the country by visiting: AIDS Quilt Display Locations and to learn more information about the quilt, visit: AIDS Memorial Quilt Website.
Let's always remember the ones in our lives that we love and care about before it's too late.
