Butterflies

2008.04.27
If he keeps eating like this, it's going to be his death...

I'm not sure what's in those berries, but this critter made my spread hand look small...

Was at this place with my brother in law. Everytime we go to a place like this, he tends to get more butterflies over his entire body, than he actually shoots with his camera.
I'm pretty sure it's his hair gel (Fructis) that attracts those butterflies...

This one was warming up in the sun, after just having popped out of his cocoon...

...and look at the gorgeous colors when he spreads his wings to catch some more warmth of the sun.

This one was a bit tricky, since the butterfly is actually nearly entirely see-through. Took a bunch of shots of this butterfly, this one turned out darn near perfect.

Hm... I can't remember I got this close to this one. But since I use a stock 18-55mm lens, I must actually have gotten this close. So either it was pretending not to see me, or it was dead.

Nice! Haven't seen a butterfly in this position before.

Here are some butterflies I shot during the summer of 2007. They're shot at an organization that helps protect the butterflies, and helps them procreate and spread over the world.

Anyway, here are the best ones, sorted for you :)
