If anyone is curious how the above was done, this is how: a macro lens, ring flash, sports setting on a 6 fps SLR, blue paint dissolved in water placed in a glass baking dish atop a glass desk with a spot light below (the orange tints) and a syringe clamped to a light stand. The hard part was getting the droplets to smile. I took about a hundred shots until I realised I was going to knacker out my ring flash unit.

While I await with baited breath more entries in the 'match the emotions to the sculpture' quiz, here are some of my contributions to SlowPete's "blue" theme.

I added the fifth one after the first 25 comments. Sorry, I'd forgotten I had it.

P.S. Answers to the previous post's quiz now up. Well done everyone for making me laugh.

kazshots well yep, they're blue. love the last one just because it's cool.

dontblink Don't wait too long or you might turn blue in the face. #3 is my favorite of this set.
dontblink · 2009-05-19: 12:18
????? that's blue all right :-) love the first one because of the crossing power lines. I normally hate them, but here they look great!! second gives me a very relaxed feeling, third, love the lines and the glass, even with the power line in front, and last one is just very cool indeed :-) great set!
????? · 2009-05-19: 12:22
Ivconcept Agree normally crossing power lines were not appropriate for aesthetic feeling , but they really look great!
Ivconcept · 2009-05-19: 12:39
joycephotography Love that last shot.
joycephotography · 2009-05-19: 13:05
AlexandraPechabaden Did you really take tha picture number 5? My? that looks like out of a book.
What I would like to see as a theme is "the most boring photoblog picture ever" theme. Post what you think is going to bore your pb friends the most. What woudl it be? What a great theme.
AlexandraPechabaden · 2009-05-19: 13:30
susjustjake Fabulous! The last one is stunning...how did you do it?
susjustjake · 2009-05-19: 13:51
lookagain The last one is great - I like how the droplets contrast with the darker colors. How many times did you have to try to get that one right? Looks difficult.
lookagain · 2009-05-19: 13:52
pianoboe great set of photos, nice variety.
pianoboe · 2009-05-19: 13:57

slowpete · 2009-05-20: 04:21
Sonic7 The last shot is fantastic ...... either you 'took' it from somewhere ... or you're even better than I've previously given you credit for. ;-)
Sonic7 · 2009-05-20: 05:09
onlyricky last one is GREAT
really ;)
onlyricky · 2009-05-20: 05:32
Lynda The drop shot is great whether you took it or not (my, there are some cynical people out there!). And unusual for you to join in a theme- maybe you are mellowing in your middle age!
Lynda · 2009-05-20: 05:38
davidcardona Great post! Excellent shots. Thanks a lot for sharing!

tcalbaz · 2009-05-20: 23:57
Ryana For clarity, I fthink all your blue pictures are good, but No. 4 is really the jewel of the serie (for me)!
Ryana · 2009-05-21: 06:29
TIM927 at least here I arrived in time to see 5 photos instead of 4 hehhee :))) adn I´m lucky, cos my favourite is 5!!!!
TIM927 · 2009-05-21: 15:02
shelburt I love the macro of the water droplets. Apart from the water droplet itself, pin sharp focus and depth of field, the colours are lovely. I keep meaning to try macros water droplets myself - do you have any tips? Thanks for your comments in the forum, btw.
shelburt · 2009-05-21: 15:36
