Mono wetlands

2009.09.03

The last village before the wetlands. Creepy feeling, although fascinating social architecture, but I felt too out of sorts to linger

I'm rather proud of this one. Probably better viewed larger.

Severely cropped and kept in colour because it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I thought I'd give your optic nerve a rest after those fireworks, Picasso projections and ochre, so here are some monos from the Camargue.

Of course, if you've spent the last five hours looking at your friends' blogs, anything will look good, but the Camargue, wetlands that form the Rhône delta, have that bare emptiness just aching for monos. I left the flamingos in colour because they're so cute.

Flat countryside makes me very ill at ease. It must be my Swiss origins and the years I've spent living on slopes. I'd make a bad Belgian...

Ryana Photo 1 looks a deserted city. Scary.
2 is indeed a nice picture.

smbunation The vantage point in excellent in the first shot. Yes, the next two are exceptional, but I also like your extreme cropping in the flamingo shot.

davids Cool set - I like the flat emptiness of these kind of places - I think that's one reason I like deserts. Now if you want flat and boring... Lincolnshire where I grew up - miles and miles of table-flat arable farming.... yawn!

????? Great b/w set, and indeed second is fantastic!! But you would make a good Belgian though................ if you lived in the Ardennes part of Belgium ;-))

bedazzled Looks like an interesting (and quite devoid of any human existence) place to me and I really love the shot that you are proud of!!

????? I like #1 because of the long road in the middle. I try to shoot down lines of trees whenever I can. Such a good effect.

SoulCurry Love #2...

Lynda I'm into black and white at the moment and looking at past pics to convert. I like the texture on 3 and had no idea there were flamingos in France!
Lynda · 2009-09-04: 05:04
????? I can see why you're proud of the second...that's a dynamic composition for such gentle subject.
