Thanks, The occasion was Nov 5th, (Yeah, I know a week early ;) when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the House Of Parliament. See here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes

What a strange picture. Also a bit spooky, like the photos of nuclear bomb tests when spectators were still unsuspecting. Of course it is beautiful, too, but in an eerie sort of way.
