I had no idea the little bug was there, it just showed up. The flower is a yellow daisy that is pretty small. The fly is tiny, and the smaller one is itsy-bitsy. What a macro world it can be... with the right lens ofcourse.
I turned the picture black and white, then added a sepia tone to the whole thing. |
The sun was just about to go below the top of the fence. I placed this empty shell gingerly onto a brick, got up close, and exposed for the shell. I added a green/blue dual-tone effect in adobe photoshop.

Squeeeezing into focus. I pretty much just waited for the bugger.

I took this at a very sharp setting on my lens (135mm) and used a close up filter. Then I had to crop a very small portion of the picture. It seems to work well for clarety, in my opinion.

This is another crop of a small portion of the actual frame. I used full zoom with the close up filter. As you can see, I captures an afid. (I think) At this magnification, in the hot sun and sweat dripping from my forhead, it is hard to pay attention to things that are smaller than what I can see in the first place. = )
