Blenheim Palace and Gardens, England

2008.05.08
Boatshed and lake.

Rather impressive entrance.

Blenheim Palace, not far from Oxford, is perhaps most famous as the birthplace of Winston Churchill. It it set on 2100 acres of grounds.

Madoc Well I have to totally agree with the «impressive» of the entrence... We have nothing close to that, architecturally speaking, around here.
I really love the simplicity of the first shot. All in green and gorgeous.

kangshung A great set and quite interesting Pete - my favourite is #3, those gardens are amazing. I actually worked on this estate for a few days way back during a brief incarnation as a tree surgeon ;)

jagungal Yes indeed, impressive. (Never got there despite its proximity to Oxford.) Photographically speaking, I like #3 best: crystal clear, beautiful colour, soft light, good composition.

signsnwonders Magnificent place and fantastic photos. The palace is impressive but the grounds (2100 acres!!!) must be breathtaking judging from photos #1 and 2.

davids Cool set - when I was there last it was autumn and that's also a nice time to take pics in the gardens

photopoet That first photo is gorgeous—the dense greenery and the depth—It pulls me into the scene. Massive architecture—somber.

vollenda The palace and it's grounds are amazing. The garden is unreal! And I totally agree about the entrance. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in a place like that.
