WHILE IN BALI THEY DISCUSS...

There's a place in Italy where the genetic risk to get cancer is increasing day after day.
In Taranto (the city where, unfortunately, my beloved three years old daughter lives) the levels of pollution are unbelievable.
94% of the all dioxine produced in all Italy comes from few industries in that district; cancer deaths are more than usual but, since more than 15.000 people get their salaries from these industries, not one protests. Needless to say that the managers and the owners of these criminal places, do not live there: they have villas in the North of Italy, where the air is clean.
I took this shot at the sunset, from the top of the building where Claudia lives: that dirty cloud on the left is a toxic cloud.
I inquired, I realized a reportage; a national weekly magazine published it and... nothing happened.
While in Bali experts are still talking and talking and talking, all this crazy world is going straight to end.
Sad to say but true.

my dear friend, if I think to the condition where Claudia leaves, if I think to the four men who dies in Turin to get few euro a months, if I think to the pour contribution the politician give to citizen, I understand why I left Italy.

Well you've certainly showed us another side to Italy from all those beautiful photographs that have the country now at #2 on my travel list. I encourage you to keep reporting, change is possible, I've worked for it and seen it happen. Though I will admit, I would first move my daughter....
