MY SUNDAY ASSIGNMENT !!!

2008.05.11

“Send me some good funny curious pictures, Marco, not the usual ones!”
That was the call for my Sunday assignment and the results were just amazing.
I went to another place close to Rome and I founded a very “snobbish” beach where very young, very rich and very tacky guys and girls use to play a sort of childish battle with “water guns”.
The point is that… they use very expensive champagne instead of sea water !!!
Even if I was angry and disgusted, I had to use my best “Winnie the pooh” smile and I took the shots.
The worst? They were happy to show off their own arrogance as an evidence of power.
Back home I was thinking of the tragedy in Burma, in Darfur, in Middle East and I started mumbling till I found a quote:

Its refreshing to see you looking past the external "beauty" of these youths and delving a little deeper into their behaviors and persona's. Sometimes I fear that slowly but surely, everyone is becoming brainwashed into believing that beauty, fame and fortune are the only things we should all aspire to in life. It's nice to see some of us are still disgusted by displays of self absorbed stupidity.

I am afraid Marco, our generation is responsible for this kind of behaviour, what did we pass on as values ... I often wonder !

I have the same feeling when I see another tradition not sure if it is in Spain , however it's tomatoes being thrown needlessly in the streets , when third world people and children are crying out for food.

The last one is very suggestive for their "cool" behavior! Ha! So this is their idea of having fun??? Funny, but also, kind of sad report! I'm wondering if they & their parents wake up to reality in maybe 5 or 10 years?
