HOPELESS... ?

2008.05.13

On 1802, in a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin, Thomas Jefferson (3rd president of US (1743 - 1826) wrote: “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”
Don't you think these words perfectly fit in 2008 as well, in the era of globalization?
And Mahatma Gandhi said “What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?”

Let me add few more words.
Is there any consciousness around that we all are over the brink of abyss?
Don’t say I’m a preacher: open your eyes, look around, stop for a while and think.
Life is beautiful and it could be wonderful if we had some more care…
I took this shots in Ostia, at 3.40 pm

icewomanfirst Li vedo anch'io.. tutti i giorni.
