Riverbanks Zoo and Garden

We just returned from a trip to South Carolina to see my brother graduate from Basic Training at Fort Jackson, it was a crazy, We drove through seven states within the seven day length of our trip. After he was officially graduated on Thursday morning, he could leave the fort because we were driving him to his next location for the first session of his job training. We got off of the base and headed to the zoo nearby. Wandered a bit (nearly got caught in a downpour) and went to see the koalas. To our surprise, there was a brand new baby! I'll probably post another set with a variety of zoo photos, but this one deserved it's own post. SO PRECIOUS!

My Favorite Place

Getting to church early for praise team rehearsal has it's advantages. Getting to stand in the front and take in the presence of God and the peacefulness of the morning. Even if it's just for five minutes, it makes my morning! Our little church and congregation is so wonderful and my pastors are incredible blessings!

Jesus, Please Use Me

I've (relatively) recently started writing poems. It started back in August when I was awaken in the middle of the night with words spinning around in my thoughts. About 15 minutes later, those words turned into the rough draft of my first poem. Since then, I've added I think 10 to my journal. This was such an INCREDIBLE concert. So much laughter, a few tears, and of course fantastic music and praise. Nearly four hours of it! I laughed so hard I got up the next morning for church and was sore. It was awesome. Here's a CHONDA video, if you need a laugh! And THE MARTINS, they're pretty awesome!

My best friend came back to the high school to put on a concert to benefit the band program. His professional quartet performed and he was the featured soloist with both the Wind Ensemble and the Jazz Ensemble. It was truly a phenomenal evening and a huge success! (More photos to come in a second post.)

I think this is my favorite costume to date! (Although, my mom and I fought with my hair for a CRAZY amount of time.) I took these with my phone, so they're not the best quality, wish I would have thought to take some with my real camera.
