Yes, I still love shooting pictures. I just don't have enough time to get them up online.
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take some photos of my own mother, who is currently visiting. We had so much fun and almost died laughing. My stomach still hurts from all that laughter. Nothing like a good time family, I'll tell you. :)
This is just one of the shots of my beautiful mom.

Powered by Photoblog.com

Its a shame it will be squeezed in a tight space here - click for a bigger picture.

So lessons learned - first, getting a baby to eat cake isn't necessarily easy. My little one seemed to be quite content to just sit and stare at it with a big smile. And then finally, to pick only tiny pieces of the icing and if I'd waited for her to eat the entire cake that way, I might have been an old lady by the time she was done.
Two... food color and babies do not go together and cleaning up was a separate story.
But hey, we got the pictures! :)

Powered by Photoblog.com

Everybody who uses a camera has more than likely experienced a moment of inspiration. A sudden desire to capture what they are experiencing visually, forever into something that they can keep to remind them a lifetime.

There are moments than cannot be expressed and feelings than can never be captured, but I feel blessed to have been able to create hundreds of priceless images of my daughter that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Since I have a ridiculous abundance of time on my hands (Not!) :) I recently designed yet another notecard with a few featured photos I have taken of her to have printed at my lab, and this is the design I am sharing in this post. The cards arrived the other day and are absolutely gorgeous (I might never send any out!) with the pearl finish that I had ordered on them.

Looking at the collage, I was thinking of the meaning of inspiration. The little subject in my card is the reason I am inspired every single day, not only to create images of her to treasure, but to do every single thing that I do with endless energy and incredible zeal. I have traveled extensively and seen so many amazing and incredible things in this world, I have met so many people and had so many experiences that were awe-inspiring, but nothing came close to what this tiny little bundle did to my soul. I have never been as inspired as I am today, by her, every day.

Powered by Photoblog.com

A Mother's Love

She literally breathes her very life into her child and nothing else is as important as growing this little being given to her to make sure they thrive and succeed. She is forever bound to love unreasonably, unconditionally and fiercely her child. She will protect them with her very life without a nanosecond of a second thought, and stand by them through this life and the next. Her instincts to nurture and to know and feel what's needed go down to the most primal level beyond consiouseness. And there is nothing and noone like her precious child. No human love compares.

I feel privilaged to know so many mothers and they are all so very beautiful, as they do something so incredibly amazing and inspiring. From bringing new life into this world to growing it to face this world.

I'm writing this post over a recent episode of worry over my little one and just some general wonder and awe as to how much I love her. No matter how much I try to put it in words, I cannot come close to what I actually feel. Every second of every day, no matter what kind of day of life, I only feel avalanched with blessing beyond description just in those first few moments of looking at my child. I don't understand how I ever came to deserve knowing this kind of love, beyond anything I have ever felt or experienced in life. I've waited for the phase, the "honeymoon" to pass... I thought I might be on a high and things will settle once I am used to this new person in my life. But it doesn't. It only reaches new levels every day. And leaves me that much more in awe.

The photo above is one of took in trying to capture a love of a mother with her child. One of many, but this was one of my favorites, so sharing it here.
And here's to a mother's love!

These girls had the same age difference as my own sister and I, and the first thing I thought of course was of us at that age.
I have to say there is nothing in life like a sister. We've fought, we've laughed, we've cried, but I cannot imagine how I would have lived this life without her. How blessed I am to have a sister. She is truly my best friend. I realized recently that when I have to outpour something on my heart there is only two people I would call - my husband and my sister.
I hope these girls know how blessed they are to have each other too. And I'm glad I captured some memories for them to remember this stage in their life.

Powered by Photoblog.com

In no particular order, I've decided to post a few photos from this set today.
I really enjoyed photographing these two boys for several reasons. For one, the relationship between them is so very precious and a delight to behold - they simply adore each other. The older brother loves and protects his little sibling, while the little one really looks up to his big brother.

The last picture is one of my own little one with the baby brother. These two actually share a special relationship as well. His mom and I carried them while we worked together right up until they were born and had an amazing time awaiting our babies together. So they spent LOTS of time together before they were even born :) And it was great to have a photo of the two of them together. We've now printed this particular shot out and hung it up where we work! :)

Powered by Photoblog.com

I always love images like this, that are a little tricky to capture.
