Overall, a very uneventful Saturday. Went for a rollerblade after I woke up this morning and called Brett... felt pretty lousy afterwards so decided to take it easy for the rest of the day. The upside? Making a delicious Teriyaki Chicken stir fry for dinner this evening.. with fresh bean sprouts, snow peas, red and yellow peppers and red onion... soooo good!!...

I realize that recently my photos have been sooooo boring!.. Beyond boring really... and for that, I apologize. So this morning on my way to the office I decided I should start snapping some more photos of the city again. This one was taken from the bridge where I once captured my photo of the shattered glass... back during a time of some serious uncertainty with my health. Don't know how I feel about this one... wasn't what I was going for, but could be worse....

Canadian Politics...

Today I came home from work early feeling sick. Had a lazy afternoon and passed out on the couch for a while - but made sure I was up in time for the Party Leader debates. Those of you south of the border probably don't realize it, but we are also in the midst of a political campaign and will be voting a new party into power on October 14th. Our electoral system is COMPLETELY different than yours and our election was called before the end of our prime ministers term... the campaigning only lasts about 30 days... Tonights debates definitely solidified who I am NOT voting for... I can tell you that much...

A Favorite Gift...

This frame was given to me last Christmas by my brothers girlfriend. In the photo is my cousin Katherine, Amber and myself. These two girls mean the world to me... and I am so thankful to have both of them in my life... :) Though this is a Christmas ornament... I have kept it up all year round!

In The Mail...

Today I got home a little late from work since we were preparing for a big presentation tomorrow. I was happy when I got home to find a package in the mail for me from Brett's parents :) It really brightened my day. It was a box full of some wonderful little things for my birthday! Too much!!! Is it just me or are Brett's parents the best??

Recognition

Some of you may remember that back in June I captained a team for the Relay for Life, an event held by the Canadian Cancer Society. Today in the mail I received this certificate thanking my team for our contribution to this years event. It made me happy to receive this and to know in total what we had raised. Now... I plan on breaking this record for the event next June! :)

Exhausted after celebrations from yesterday today I just recovered and was lazy. My Aunt had called me at 11am and invited me over for a birthday dinner there (since my parents are in Greece for another week)... and it was nice to go and spend some time with family for my birthday! :).... Nothing too exciting to take photos of... so this lame photo of my book case is what you get... hope everyone had a good weekend!

Celebrating With The Ladies...

Friday night was meant to be a birthday dinner party at my house... however, because of the hockey tickets I won, the dinner was canceled. My friend Emily then planned a rescheduled party on Saturday night for myself and our friend Melissa whose birthday was earlier in the month. After having a pre-party at Emily's with drinks and cake we headed out to the bar to celebrate. God these girls are a good time :) Thanks Ladies... it was a great birthday :)

Hockey Night in Canada

Soooo many more photos from this night... but all I can say was it was fantastic (despite the 5-4 loss we suffered to Pittsburgh)... whatever, free beer - meeting Wendel and Rick.... hanging out with the girls and seeing the blue and white play for the first time at the ACC... and did I mention the free beer?... God I am Canadian! Great night to start the birthday weekend celebrations... that's for sure! :)

Big 2-3 today..... pretty good day overall! Everyone at work was so much fun - they bought me a cake and sang me happy birthday and then gave me my gift (the middle photo).... Got out of work a little early and came home to find a bunch of balloons tied to my front door from Ashley - she ended up coming by and hung out for a bit before my cousin came over and we headed out to dinner at a nearby restaurant where our friend Mike is the head chef and we had a great dinner... and here I am back home sharing my day with all of you!! :).... This weekend will be the real party time... keep an eye out for the photos! :)
