The calendar keeps showing the same dates as last year yet my life shows something very different. Those memories feel so close I can taste them. They are deep and rich and completely bittersweet. There are moments when I want to keep recreating, and other times I wish they never existed. Why is it that so often the right thing seems unbearable. It feels like my heart can hardly stay together long enough to move in the right direction. So i take it one step at a time. All the while I'm leaning back heavily on you because looking up could slow this journey. You carry me through this pain. You watched me run hard in one direction, like a small child determined that is was what I wanted. You walked with me as I hit the ground harder than ever before, and you sat next to me, rubbing my back as I scrambled. As I leaned torwards you and asked for the right way, I let go of the only thing I was still holding tightly. And now I lay limp in your arms in complete submission to where you will take me next. Because no matter how warm or cold it becomes, no matter how tight of loose you hold me, I am being held my my father. Completely and totally held.

Powered by Photoblog.com

Last night i talked with the guy who believed in God but didn't really know much about jesus and saw no difference between muslims and christians. It was really awesome, and in the end i think he was really struck.

I also got to talk with this guy from canada who was traveling around europe by himself and drinking a lot. It was really nice to speak with someone who speaks the same first language as me and share God with them.

Things here are slowly getting to be amazing. I love being surrounded with God here and then going out and sharing it. Not because i have to either, because i simply cannot keep it to myself anymore.

I LOVE IT.

After praying about it the first day there i became overwhelmed with all of the darkness and evil that was there. I asked God how our group could ever reach these people.

Boy was i wrong. I joined the prayer group thinking that it would be more like the backbone of the whole event and not really expecting to do a whole lot of one on one talking to strangers. Also wrong. After being frustrated almost to tears every night, i entered tonight not feeling very well but with a hopeful spirit. After being prayed for several times during the evening, by the time our group started things off i was feeling great. After some prayer i really felt God telling me to just have a fun night and be apart of the crowd and talk to people there. So i went with 2 other girls who felt like they should stand back and support me in talking to people.

Tonight i got to speak spanish with 2 columbians, pray with 2 other people, and dance with a little french girl named juliana. God really moved tonight through me, and in that i feel so fulfilled. Sharing God's message with people and watching their faces is a truly incomparable moment.

Yes i have struggled here and yes this is very stretching, but God is meeting me in those things and showing me that he is faithful.

Thank you for your prayers. I have learned the power of prayer even more this week than ever.

Powered by Photoblog.com

My body is tired and i need you
I know you are there
But the fog masks your presence
The way the rain begins and ends
Begins and
ends.
You are in control
Through a chill breeze
or a slight drizzle
You hold us.
A holding I can't express.
So close to your chest
and i lay limp
Unable to hold back at every beat
but I am still being held.
Even though my eyes cannot look upon you
You are present.

Powered by Photoblog.com

It's been difficult adjusting to being one of the youngest people here. I've been used to being around people my age or younger and now I am living with a 17, 19, 21, and 27 year old. There are five girls in one room smaller than my room at home. Thiat has been hard as well.

We're about to go celebrate 4th of july and have hamburgers for all the north americans here. Please pray for team unity. It's been sort of a hard adjustment for me not understanding and relating to everyone ( or anyone really.)

Powered by Photoblog.com
