This is the festival called "Sithirai thiruvizha" celebrated in Madurai of INDIA, we used to celebrate for 12 days, and among the dozen of days, Alagar's (the God) visit to Vaigai on golden horse, is the most marked occasion.

Even at 21st century here in INDIA we worship him... 

All most every one whoever practice classical dance 'Bharathanatiyam' in INDIA start their carrier only after worshiping him 'Natraja'... One of the 64 manifestations of Shiva.hindu God - the man-woman form with Parvati constituting the left half of Shiva is Ardhanareeswara. The ardhanareeswara is concept that Shiva stands for.
