Kentucky @ Georgia Pt.2

This is part-2 of my photoblog entry. I was asked to help/photo assistant for this game at the last minute. So I gathered my gear and headed to Athens, Ga. It was a very nice fall evening for football. It was Georgia's last home game of the season so it was senior night. A full house was on hand to watch the Cats and Dawgs play and it did not disappoint. Kentucky won this game 34-27.

Marietta @ Grayson HS Football

For those of you following this blog, you know Marietta squeaked into the playoffs by beating Harrison (a few blogs ago) and with the help of three other teams losing, the Blue Devils were the 16th seed in the playoffs. With that comes facing the #1 team in the region, the Grayson Rams. They are the trash compactor of HS football teams in our area, perhaps the state. The Blue Devils were courageous and held its own against the Rams losing 21-14. A much closer game many of the Ram fans admitted after the game. It was a great run for the Devils and I throughly enjoyed covering the team.

Marietta @ Kennesaw Mountain HS Football

Well, well, well. Look who has snatched a a playoff birth from the jaws of ending the season. The Marietta Blue Devils. Yes, hard to believe this once 2-4 Blue Devil team finished the season winning 3 of its last 4 games (3 games were on the road) to claim a 5-5 season and good enough to make the playoffs! The Devils needed some help and help arrived as the teams that needed to lose, lost and put Marietta in the playoffs. Up next for the Blue Devils will be playing at Grayson Rams (10-0) ranked #1 in the region. I think everyone in Marietta is thrilled the Blue Devils got this far. Marietta needed to take care of its own business and business they did playing at Kennesaw Mountain HS Mustangs. The Mustangs were trying to finish a dismal season coming into the game 1-8. End the end it was too much of Marietta's QB Adam Patrick (54 yds passing) and RB Greg Franklin (208 yds rushing) as the Devils won 35-20 finishing the season 5-5. KMHS finished the year 1-9. Playoffs are NEXT. ..enjoy..
