It must have been 6 months since I last had a decent session, and last weekend my perseverence paid off. Yet another trip 375km due south of the ACT this time to Marlo, the mouth of the famous Snowy River. Here I finally found enough wind blowing in the right direction to get my 4 hour fix. Unfortunately I was unable to bring back convincing evidence of the deed due to my having too much fun. However the permanent smile on my face should be enough to convince anyone that yes - I went kite surfing again last weekend! No luck there either I'm afraid. I took these photos instead with my mobile phone camera. Just as well I had my Handy handy! When I got back I got on to Google Earth and wouldnt you know it....if I had only gone another 50km to the Snowy River mouth I would have reached kitesurfing Nirvana.... DOH!!!! Its a long flat straight stretch on a dual highway in an 80Kph zone. The kind of place you'd have to wonder how anything could possibly go wrong. About 10 years ago two Police officers where killed in the same place coming the other way. Their car lost control for reasons that were never discovered. Each time I go past this way there seem to be more and more memorials to yet more victims of road trauma. I just don't understand it. People, please be careful on the roads this Christmas.
