Goose Fair dates back 700 years and is held in Nottingham on the first weekend in October. Despite its name it has nothing to do with geese but originally was a Goods Fair held for people to stock up before winter. Over the years it has gradually changed and now it is Europe's largest travelling fair and has 500 attractions, from the latest white knuckle rides to old favourites such as, carousels and Hook-a-Duck.

During our visit it was extremely noisy, with competing music coming from each ride, and extremely busy. Not really my idea of fun but since we were in Nottingham at the same time we had to go just to say we had been!
