Day 135 Time Out

Life's a bit busy. Somehow I thought it would be a good idea to buy a house while wrapping up the last four weeks of my master's program. I do like to juggle stuff! Anyhow, I took a moment out last night to watch a friend's band play at an Irish Pub. It was fun and a nice way to relax and unwind.

Day 134 City Scenes

This is the view from outside of our apartment in Oakland tonight. As I walked up the street to go get a some groceries I thought about what a BIG shift we are making by buying this new place because we are moving out to the suburbs. I've lived in a city the last 12 years, but something in me has been wanting to move somewhere with lots of trees and quiet hills and less concrete and noise for a while now. I realize I will probably miss quite a bit about the city (like being within walking distance to a burrito at all times), but there is a lot I am looking forward to about moving to place where I get up in the morning and hear birds instead of sirens. Not that sirens are bad, there is a part of me that appreciates the realness of life in a city, but I guess I'm ready for a little peace and serenity in my life. Anyway, still VERY excited and downright happy about the house.

Our offer was accepted and we are in escrow for the house!! We are super excited to be first-time home buyers :). YEAH, YipEE, Hooray!

Day 132 Some Good News...

Someone up above is pulling some strings for me and the people I love as good news has been rolling in today... *My sister got a great job offer to become a vice principal today at her junior high. *The hubby and I are getting closer to owning the home we love; it's not final yet, but it's looking positive....

Day 126 Happy 13th Anniversary!

It's my sister and her husband's 13th wedding anniversary today. I still remember their big day like it was yesterday--one of the most fun days of my life. Dancing with all of my family to YMCA was so much crazy fun. Happy Anniversary you two!
